Funeral rites for Mrs. Emma E. Althaus, 210 East Eighth street, age 82, who died at the home of her twin sister, Mrs. Bertha Volkel, on Mulberry avenue Friday afternoon, are still indefinite pending the return of her son, Koehler Price, who was on a motor trip in the northwest when his mother died.
Mrs. Althaus was a life-long resident of Muscatine, being born here Sept. 3, 1854. She was married to William Price, in February 1881 at Muscatine, and later to Gus Althaus. She was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Nicholas and Susan Koehler, one son, one daughter, two sisters and four brothers.
Surviving are one son, Koehler Price, of Muscatine, and three step-sons, Glenn Althaus of California, Howard and Clarence Althaus of Muscatine, beside her twin sister, Mrs. Volkel, and three grandchildren, Madeline Price of Davenport, Harold and Ralph Price of Muscatine.
The body is at the George M. Wittich Funeral Home.
