A complication of ailments of one month's duration followed by a stroke of paralysis early this morning resulted in the death of Mrs. Eugene Baldwin, 1209 Kansas street at Bellevue hospital at 11 a.m. today. She was 34 years old.
Mrs. Baldwin was removed to Bellevue hospital three weeks ago Saturday and had apparently been on the road to recovery when stricken with paralysis early this morning.
Mrs. Baldwin who was formerly Miss Sybil Amelia Thort was born March 26, 1885 in Wisconsin and came to Muscatine when fifteen years old, living here practically ever since. Seventeen years ago, she married Wm Cozard, to which union three children were born, all of whom survive. June 14, 1918, she married Eugene Baldwin to which union one child was born which died in infancy.
Besides the husband, she is survived by three children, Sarah, Frank and Raymond Cozard, her father, Levi Thort, one sister, Ethel Thort of Muscatine county and two brothers, Lyman Thort of this city and Robert Thort Hanna of Chicago.
