Three Week's Illness Proves Fatal; Funeral Will Be Held Friday.

LaVerne Richard Hungate, 17-year-old son of Thomas and Inona Tungate[sic], 1009 McKinley street died at Hershey hospital at 3:10 a.m. today after an illness of three weeks with peritonitis.
LaVerne was born at Bloomfield, Ia., March 25, 1916, but had spent 16 years of his life here. He was a member of the Park avenue Methodist church.
Surviving are his parents; one brother, Earl, at home; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Hunter, Muscate, and Sidney Hungate, Craig, Colo. A brother preceded him in death.
The body is at the Hoffman Funeral home where it will remain for funeral services to be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday by the Rev. James A. Worrell, pastor of the Park Avenue Methodist church. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
