Mrs. Katherine Bowlby, 74, died of paralysis at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Kintzel, 615 Oak Street, at 2 o’clock this morning. She had been ill for the past four weeks.

Mrs. Bowlby was born in Dayton, O., Jan. 31, 1852. For the past 45 years she had been a resident of Muscatine, and before that, she had lived on a farm near High Prairie. She was married to Thomas J. Bowlby, Feb. 3, 1870. She was member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist.

She is survived by one son, Norman Bowlby of Davenport, and two daughters, Mrs. Frank Kintzel and Mrs. V. E. Fuller of Muscatine.

Funeral services will be held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Kintzel, at 9 o’clock Friday morning. In charge of William Zetler, reader at the First Church of Christ, Scientist.

Interment will be in the High Prairie cemetery. The Hoffman Mortuary will have charge of funeral arrangements.
