Mrs. Kathrine Plitt Claussen, 78, former teacher in the Wilton Junction and Muscatine school systems, died Sept. 29 at Muscatine General hospital after a long illness.

Services were held Oct. 1. Paul Boaz officiated. Burial was in Oakdale cemetery at Wilton Junction.

A daughter of George H. and Nancy Ramsky Plitt, she was born Nov. 8, 1881 in Sweetland township, Muscatine county. She graduated from the German English college, Wilton Junction, in 1902 and taught in Wilton Junction and at the Jackson school, Muscatine.

Her marriage to William B. Claussen took place Jan. 17, 1906, at Wilton Junction. She was a member of the Wilton Presbyterian church, charter member of the Purity chapter of O.E.S. and honorary member of the Wilton Women's club.

Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, one daughter in infancy, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
