James W. Martin, 63, retired farmer, died Thursday at his home at Moscow. He had been ill for some time and death was attributed to a heart ailment.
The son of Thomas and Ada Hill Martin, he was born Aug. 2, 1893, in Illinois City, Ill., and had been a resident of Moscow for 17 years. He married Gladys Sterrett, June 21, 1917, at Rock Island, Ill. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal church.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Maurice, Wilton Junction; Ronald, Davenport, and Jack W. at home; three daughters, Yvonne B., at home; Mrs. Elaine J. Bland, Stockton, and Mrs. Dana M. Bland, Durant; a brother, Hale, Muscatine; three sisters, Mrs. Winifred Thomas, Buffalo Prairie, Ill.; Mrs. Hazel Boch, Rock Island, and Mrs. Marie Teuscher, Taylor Ridge, Ill., and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and five sisters.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Trinity Evangelical & Reformed church in Wilton Junction with the Rev. Duane Meyer officiating. Burial was in the Oakdale cemetery.
