Mrs. John (Marilyn) Leonard, 31, West Liberty, died at Mercy hospital in Iowa City Tuesday after a short illness.

Mrs. Leonard was born at West Liberty Nov. 14, 1924, a daughter of Archie and Emma Tomes Ditmars. She was graduated from West Liberty high school. She was married to John Leonard May 8, 1944, at West Liberty.

She was a member of St. Joseph's church in West Liberty and the Altar and Rosary society.

Survivors include her husband, Lieut. Cmdr. John Leonard, three sons, John, Mark and Thomas; two daughters, Marilyn and Susan Marie, the latter born June 6; one brother, Robert, West Liberty; one sister, Mrs. Barbara Jo Baum, Oelwein, and her mother, Mrs. Emma Ditmars, West Liberty.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's church in West Liberty, with the Rev. B. L. Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge cemetery.
