Mrs. Christie B. Herr, 78, died Saturday at her home in Wilton Junction after a lengthy illness.

The daughter of George J. and Mary Malone Lang, she was born Feb. 17, 1878, in Muscatine county and was a life resident of Wilton Junction. She was married to D. E. Herr Feb. 18, 1903. Mrs. Herr was a member of the Peace Evangelical United Brethren church.

Surviving are four sons, Kenneth E., Paul L., Carl W. and Leo R. Herr, all of Wilton Junction; a daughter, Mrs. Harold W. Grunder, also of Wilton Junction; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, a brother and a grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Griffith funeral home with the Rev. Hugh P. Roberts, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial was in Oakdale cemetery in Wilton Junction.
