Isabella Duggan Neal was born in Bangor, Maine, Nov. 17, 1800, and was united in marriage Nov. 16, 1823. To this union six children were born, three sons and three daughters. The husband preceded her in death, dying June 16, 1868.

They resided in Maine until 1840, when they emigrated to Ohio, remaining there two years. In 1842 they came to Des Moines county, Iowa. In 1864 they removed to Muscatine county, Seventy-Six township, and spent their remaining days on their farm.

She was born in 1800, and died in 1900, being 99 years, 6 months and 3 days of age.

Mrs. Neal was a pensioner, her husband having been a soldier of 1812, 33 regiment U.S. infantry, of Maine.

Note: William Neil, her husband, is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery a.k.a. Jean Cemetery, near Cranston, Cedar Twp., Muscatine Co., IA.
