Saturday, 17 October 1908, page 6Mrs. Ida M. Eisele, the wife of Joseph Eisele, of Seventy-Six township, in Muscatine county, died at her home at 2:10 a.m. on October 10, 1908. She had been suffering for the past seven weeks from a complication of diseases, which is given as the cause of her death.
She was born on August 6, 1862, leaving her age 46 years, 2 months and 4 days. She lived all her life within a mile of the family residence, with the exception of four years. She was the mother of eight children, seven of whom survive her, aside from her husband – Mrs. Bessie Bryant, of Davenport; Mrs. Jessie Berkshire, of Chicago; Miss Grace, Joseph, Clarence, Russell and Raymond, all at home. Also two sisters, Mrs. Chas. Figg, of Indiana; Mrs. Michael Wilhite, of South Muscatine; and one brother, Reynolds Wright, of Muscatine.
She was an affectionate wife, a loving mother, a kind and a good neighbor. She was loved and esteemed by all who knew her. She always had a helping hand and an open heart for one and all.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. L. Childress, of the U.M. church, at the family residence at 10 o’clock Monday morning, the services being very impressive.
The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire vicinity. Her remains were laid at rest in the Kaiser cemetery, followed by a concourse of sorrowing friends. The pall-bearers were Lem Dickerson, John Tomfield, Ed. McFadden, Fred Mich, Henry Hoffmeyer, and Pat Tomney.
