Grant Smith, 71, farmer in the Atalissa area for 33 years, died early March 13 at his home in Atalissa after a lingering illness.

He was born Aug. 20, 1886 at Moscow, the son of Charles and Isabelle Smith. He married Ada McGill April 8, 1911 at Rock Island, Ill.

Mr. Smith was a charter member of Penn Avenue Grange and was a member of the Presbyterian church and Masonic lodge.

Survivors include his widow, a son Charles, Atalissa; two daughters, Mrs. Zella Stattler, Bennett; and Mrs. Jean Burns, Muscatine; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Cromer, Muscatine and 10 grandchildren.

Services were held at the Presbyterian church in Atalissa Sunday with burial in the Overman cemetery.
