Obituary of Letha V. McCulley

Letha V. McCulley, 91, of Columbus Junction, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019, at her home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at the Marion Avenue Baptist Church in Washington. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Memorials may be directed to the Marion Avenue Baptist Church in memory of Letha. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Letha Viola Boulton was born on July 3, 1927, in rural Columbus Junction, the daughter of George C. and Pearl L. (Adamson) Boulton. She was a graduate of Wapello High School. On November 8, 1947, Letha was united in marriage to James Dean McCulley in rural Columbus Junction. She was a homemaker. Letha was a member of the Marion Avenue Baptist Church and she enjoyed flower gardening, yardwork, Children’s Church and Nursery and crafts, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her family.

Letha will be deeply missed by her husband, Dean of Columbus Junction; her children, Jean (Howard) Dantuma of Washington and Dianne (Chet) Coolbaugh of Ottumwa; daughter-in-law, Corrine McCulley of Washington; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.

Letha was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Martha Boulton; son, Rick McCulley and one great grandson, James Boucher.
