Muscatine, Iowa Donald L. Cozad, 70, died Thursday, April 16, 2009. at Muscatine Care Center.

No public visitation or services will be held.
Garden Ridge Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting with arrangements.

Mr. Cozad was born June 2, 1938, in Muscatine, the son of Raymond and Margaret (Ellis) Cozad.

He married Betty Ann Thurston Cozad, who preceded him in death. He later married Wendy Sue Cozad. They later divorced.

He was a commercial fisherman for many years. He retired from the City of Muscatine streets department.

He enjoyed fishing and being on the river.

He is survived by his daughters, Judy (Russ) Laymon of Wilton and Brenda Cozad of Florida; one step daughter Kelli Browning, of Muscatine; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother Scott Cozad, of Muscatine; and two sisters, Wanda Schultz and Gerry Stecher, both of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; son Donnie Ray Cozad; stepson Jody Franks; brothers Billy Joe and Dick; and sisters Barbara and Mary Lou.
