Funeral services for Olive Whitmer, 90, formerly of Wilton, were held July 28 at Grace United Church of Christ in Wilton, with the Rev. Bob Mayo officiating. Pallbearers were her grandsons. Burial was in the Oakdale cemetery in Wilton.

Mrs. Whitmer died July 25 at St. Anthony's Care Center in Rock Island, Ill.

The daughter of Charles and Sadie Johnston McQuillen, she was born Oct. 18, 1896 in Wilton. She married Charles Whitmer in Wilton in 1918 and she was a lifelong resident of the community. She had been a cook at Wilton high school.

Mrs. Whitmer was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, the Wilton Legion Auxiliary and she was a Gold Star Mother.

She is survived by 2 sons, Chester Whitmer, East Moline, Ill., and Charles Whitmer, Jr., Viola, Ark.; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, a grandson, 5 sisters and one brother.
