Rodney Allen Said, 70, of Peosta, Iowa, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 at his home in Peosta, Iowa.

Friends and relatives of Rod may call from 2 to 7 p.m., Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth, Iowa.

Services for Rod will be held at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth, Iowa, with Rev. Michael Schuller Presiding and full military honors afforded by the Dyersville American Legion Post #137. Burial will be held at a later date.

Rod was born July 11, 1947 in Clinton County, Iowa, son of Vern and Silvia (Teeters) Said. He graduated from Maquoketa High School in Maquoketa, Iowa. On July 24, 1982 he was united in marriage to Jean Casel in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Rod served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Helicopter Pilot. He is a member of the Dyersville American Legion Post #137.

He loved spending time with his family and friends especially golfing with his friend Bill Barton. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and hangout with his Legion friends, specifically his friend Kenny Olberding.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Said of Peosta, IA, four children, Chad Said of Wilton, IA Chandra Said of Wilton, IA, Kari Frommelt of Canton, MI and Keasha Said; 11 grandchildren; two siblings, Gary Said and Deloris Bendixen both of Maquoketa, IA; two sisters-in-law, Linda Said and Donna Said both of Maquoketa, IA.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Amy Rausch; one grandson, Hunter Michael Frommelt on April 8, 2016; two brothers, Don Said and Ronnie Said; one sister, Betty Wirth.
