MRS. NETTIE COFFIN

CONESVILLE – Mrs. Nettie D. Coffin, 96, Conesville, died 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hershey Convalescent home where she had been a resident since March 27, 1968.
Born Nov. 2, 1871 at rural Conesville, she was the daughter of Leander and Deborah Hall McKee. She had been a life resident here.
September 28, 1900, Nettie McKee married Fred Coffin. She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Conesville; a member of the Women’s Fellowship; and a Sunday school teacher for many years. Mrs. Coffin had attended Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls and taught in the rural schools of Muscatine and Louisa Counties. She and her husband had operated a grocery store at Conesville for 56 years.
Survivors are four sons, John F. Coffin, Conesville, Gaylord M. Coffin, and Clarence C. Coffin, both of Denver, Colo., and Burton L. Coffin, Nashville, Tenn.; three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Reger, Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Gertrude Fisher, Muscatine and Mrs. Deborah Gallagher, Greely, Colo.; one brother, L. R. McKee, Muscatine; 4 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the grace United Church of Christ, Conesville.
The body is at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral home, Columbus Junction, where friends may call Friday.

MRS. NETTIE COFFIN

CONESVILLE – Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie D. Coffin, 96, of Conesville, were held Saturday afternoon, at the Grace United Church of Christ.
The Rev. R.W. Copeland, pastor of the Grace United Church of Christ officiated. Cecil Schlichting was the pianist.
The pallbearers were Roy McCormick, Guy Forbes, Freeman Estle, Russell Maxwell, Donald Singleton, and Harry Chapman. The flower attendants were Mrs. Elva Edgar, Mrs. Ruth Forbes, Mrs. Thomas Gipple, and Mrs. Forest Maxwell.
Burial was at the Conesville cemetery, under the direction of the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home of Columbus Junction.
Mrs. Coffin died Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 9 at the Hershey Convalescent Home in Muscatine.
