Lived on One Farm for Past 22 Years; Junction Man Dies

Columbus Junction, Ia., Oct. 19. – Webster Newton, who had lived on the same farm two miles southeast of Columbus Junction the last 22 years, died at 9:20 Monday evening after a lingering illness.
Mr. Newton was born at Nichols, Jan. 24, 1856. When a young man he went to Atkinson, Neb., where he lived 13 years and where he married Miss Etta Smith, June 2, 1889. They made their home there six years and came to Nichols where they lived until coming to Columbus Junction.
Beside the widow he is survived by three sons, Walter, of Muscatine, Ralph at Cedar Rapids and Phillip at home, and by three brothers, Philander and Thompson Newton of Nichols and Chester Newton of Atkinson, Neb.
The funeral services will be held at the Methodist Episcopal church at Columbus Junction at 2 o’clock, this afternoon. Burial will be made in the Conesville cemetery.
