John Singleton, Longtime Cone Resident, Dies

Conesville – John Singleton, 73, lifelong resident of the Conesville community, died Monday afternoon.
The son of William and Margaret Singleton, he was born in Conesville on Oct. 14, 1875. He married the former Lettie Ramer on Nov. 26, 1896.
Survivors include his wife; one brother, Fred Singleton, of Texas; five children, Mrs. Harold Hankins, Wayne Singleton and Donald Singleton, all of Conesville, Mrs. Aleta Bjornstad of Hot Springs, N.D., and Calvin Singleton of Whitney, Tex.; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The body has been taken to the Richie Funeral Home in Columbus Junction. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

John Singleton funeral Services To Be Thursday

Conesville – Funeral services for John Singleton, 73, life-long resident of Conesville who died Monday afternoon, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Richie Funeral home in Columbus Junction.
The Rev. Fred W. Weltge, pastor of the Evangelical and Reformed church of Conesville, will officiate. Burial will be in the Conesville cemetery.
