Dorothy Grace Madsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jensen was born in Hoodriver, Oregon on Oct. 14, 1905. When she was eight years old, the family moved to Minnesota. She was brought to the Lord in Holy Baptism and made a child of God and heir to eternal life. This covenant was renewed by her on the day of her confirmation when she promised to be true to her Lord and Savior. On January 30th, 1929 she was married to Lund Madsen. This Union was blessed with 4 children. In 1933 the family moved into the Atalissa community and made Zion Lutheran church their church home. The departed eagerly searched the Scriptures, attended Bible class and Sunday services and made use of the Sacrament of the Altar. She was an active member of the Ladies Aid Society. She was taken to Mercy Hospital at Iowa City on June 25th to be under doctor's care, but it pleased God to take her out of this world and as we hope and believe to himself in heaven. She departed this life on June 28th at about 8 A.M. at the age of 36 years, 8 months and 14 days.

She leaves to mourn her early departure; her sorrowing husband, 4 children, Paul, Alberta, Patricia and Carole; her mother, Mrs. Ruby Jensen, Freeborn, Minn.; 1 brother, Paul Jensen, Pontiac, Mich.; 3 sisters, Mildred Jensen, St. Peter, Minn., Mrs. Eva Bowen, Freeborn, Minn., Mrs. Cora Murdock, Clitheral, Minn. and many other relatives and friends.
