Rites Scheduled for Nichols Man

Harry W. Smith Succumbs to Long Illness; funeral Thursday.

Nichols—Funeral services for Harry W. Smith, 72, who succumbed to a long illness at his home east of here at 11 a.m. Tuesday, will be held a t 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Henry Kirchner residence with the Rev. H. C. Druse of the Methodist church in charge.
Mr. Smith was born Nov. 20, 1862, in New York City, and was married June 30, 1887, at St Joseph, Mo., to Miss Mary E. Richarz. He was, for a time, a resident of Chicago, but had lived in this community for the last 27 years.
Mr. Smith was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of te I.O.O.F. lodge of Chicago.
Besides his widow, he is survived by one son, Harry E. Smith, of Durand, Mich.; one daughter, Mrs. Ernest Kirchner, of Nichols; two sisters, Mrs. E. F. Granger, of Sodus, N. Y., and Mrs. George Alley of McAllen, Tex.; one brother, Charles C. Cobun, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and four grandchildren.
The body will remain at the home until time for services. Henry Kirchner, funeral director, is in charge.

Rites Observed for Harry W. Smith

Nichols—Funeral services for Harry W. Smith, whose death occurred at his home east of Nichols Tuesday morning, were conducted at the home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday by Rev. H. C. Druse, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial was in the Nichols cemetery. Members of the I. O. O.F. lodge at Nichols conducted the services at the cemetery. A quartet composed of Anna Halleck, Wilma Mills, Leland Billicks and W. E. Loeb sang the selections. Pallbears were: B. L. Metcalf, Fred Poole, Will Poole, E. W. Adams, Charles Pike and T. C. Reynolds. Flower attendants were Mrs. T. B. Nichols, Ora Nichols, Mrs. Will Poole, Mrs. Fred Poole, Mrs. T. C. Reynolds, Anna Reynolds, Mrs. E. W. Adams and Golda Pike.
NOTE: Should be Pallbearers.
