MELVIN MORRIS

Melvin T. Morris, age 75, died in Yuma, Arizona on January 38, 2010.

Melvin was born in Stockport, Iowa on June 6, 1934 to Harold and Edna VanPatten Morris.

Mel raced jalopy and late model stock cars from the early 1950's to the early 1980's in Iowa. He loved to deer and turkey hunt, fish, go on trial rides and play Texas Hold 'em on Tuesday nights.

He is survived by his wife Linda at the family home; 2 daughters, Linda Cook of Kirksville, MO and Jolleen (Jeff Praught) Morris, Bennett, IA; 2 sons, Rick Morris of Farmington, IA and Jim Morris of West Liberty, IA; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Glenn Morris of Palo, IA; 1 step-daughter, Stacy (Jamie Kirk) Meyers of Nichols, IA; 1 step-son, Jim (Beth) Meyers, El Dorado Springs, MO; and 1 step-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister in infancy.

A celebration of Mel's life will be held at a later date.
