Mrs. Dorothea Beitel, 87, died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Lutheran Homes. She was born
November 15, 1880 in Germany the daughter of Mathias and Anna Oest Umlandt.

She was united in marriage to Clarence Beitel who died in 1956. Mrs. Beitel was a member of the Grace Lutheran church.

One son, Byron of Davenport; a grandson serving in Vietnam; and one brother, William Umlandt of Muscatine, survive.

Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Fairbanks Chapel with the Rev. Edward B. Meyer officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
