JAMES PRESTON BICKFORD

Funeral services for James Preston Bickford, 81, will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at the Dudgeon-McCulley funeral home, with Rev. Bruce Gillis in charge: Interment will be at Nichols.
Mr. Bickford died at 8 p. m. Monday at his home at Wapello. He was a retired railroad worker, having been employed for 33 years by the Rock Island railroad.
He was married to the former Olive Scheildburg. She preceded him in death in February of 1950. He was also preceded by his parents three sons, four brothers and one sister.
Mr. Bickford was born Jan. 10, 1879, at Tipton, the son of John and Marie Kinsinger Bickford of Tipton.
Survivors include two sons, Verl and Lyle of Wapello; four daughters, Mrs. Violet Hazen of What Cheer, Mrs. Cleo Meyers of New Sharon, Mrs. June Ward and Mrs. Gertrude Meisky, both of Oakdale; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Carey of Santa Monica and Mrs. Anna Laucamp of Tipton; 19 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
