EMMA M. CRIST

CONESVILLE, Iowa -- Emma M. Crist, 98, Conesville, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at the Muscatine Care Center. Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, 2907 Mulberry Ave. The Rev. Hal Green will officiate. Pallbearers are Tim Crist, Ken Piere, Jim Morgan, Ron Swetland, Bill Morgan and Butch Lee. Burial will be at Conesville Cemetery. After the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Methodist Church in Conesville. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at the funeral home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Mrs. Crist was born July 2, 1905, in Johnson City, the daughter of Joseph Albert and Mary Rosy Hedley Yedlik. She married Melvin Crist Nov. 21, 1923, in Nichols. He preceded her in death in 1998. She worked at Huttig's as a stacker for several years until she retired. She loved flowers, gardening, collected salt and pepper shakers, crocheting and making jewelry. She enjoyed her family and especially being a grandmother. Survivors include a son, Keith Crist and wife Patricia of Muscatine; a daughter, Elvera Lowe of Muscatine; five grandchildren, Judy Swetland and husband Ron of Blue Grass, Karen Morgan and husband Jim of Muscatine, Bonnie Lee and husband Butch of Muscatine, Kathy Piere and husband Ken of Tiffin and Tim Crist and wife Kathi of Iowa City; eight great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Virgil Crist; four brothers; and two sisters.
