DOROTHEA VAN AKEN DIES AT NICHOLS
Nichols, la., Sept. 24—Dorothea Van Aken, aged 27, died at the family home, about four miles west of Nichols, Monday afternoon, after an illness of diabetes. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's church at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning conducted by the Rev. Father Mineheart of Lone Tree. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
She was born in the Netherlands, July 27, 1902, the daughter of Anthony and Marie Van Aken, and came to America 21 years ago. Her survivors are her mother, Mrs. John Jansen, three sisters, Mrs. Albert Polman of Nichols and the Misses Mary and Francis Aken, a brother, Leo Van Aken, four half brothers, John, Henry, Theodore and Alphonse Jansen and three half sisters, Agnes, Josephine and Cecelia Jansen.
