The (Muscatine) Daily Journal, Monday May 8, 1893

Died – Friday evening, May 5, 1893, at his home on East Eleventh street, of old age, Adam Martin, aged 81 years, 7 months and 11 days.

The deceased was born in Germany, and emigrated to America in 1857, coming to Iowa soon after. He enlisted in the 37th Iowa Infantry in 1862 and served until the close of the war. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. F. Judisch, of this city, and one son John, of Winchester, MO.

The funeral services were held at the German Congregational church yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Jacob Fath, and were largely attended.
