Clarence, Iowa – Services for Dorothy Hohl Albert, 84, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Clarence. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today.

Mrs. Albert died Sunday at her home. In early years, she was a deputy sheriff in Jefferson County. She had worked in the auto license department in Des Moines County and was an accountant for some businesses in Muscatine County.

Dorothy Selser married Richard Hohl in 1937 in Monmouth, Ill. He died in 1966. She married Edward Albert in 1970 in Mount Pleasant. He died in 1971. She was a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star and a member of Cultis Study Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Karlyene (Mrs. Thomas) Bailey, West Liberty; and four grandchildren.
