Muscatine Journal - Tues., April 26, 1960

Francis (Frank) A. Vorwerk, 50, died suddenly at 7 a.m. today at his home,413 W. Sixth St. Death was attributed to a heart condition.

A radio and TV serviceman at Cook's Music Store, Mr. Vorwverk had been a resident of Muscatine for 30 years. He was born June 26, 1909, at Sperry,
Ia., the son of John and Anna Panther Vorwerk. He was a former resident of Dodgeville.

Mr. Vorwerk was married April- 2, 1946, to Maleta Aye at Muscatine. He was a Navy veteran of .World War II,and attended the First Baptist church.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Maleta Vorwerk; three sons,(by his first wife Betty Harker) Robert Vorwerk of Detroit,John Vorwerk and Benedict Vorwerk of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two daughters, Judy and Janet Vorwerk at home; two brothers, Daniel and Stephen Vorwerk of Muscatine; four sisters, Mrs. Michael Manjoine of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Ben Bankhead and Mrs. Charles Anson of Muscatine;
and Mrs. Howard Griffith of Letts; his mother, Mrs. Anna (Panther) Vorwerk of Muscatine; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father(John).

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the George M. Wittich funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park.
