August Bierman, 321 Bierman street, a prominent resident of South Muscatine for more than sixty years, died at Hershey hospital shortly after 5:30 o’clock this morning. Heart trouble and dropsy of about eight weeks duration cased his death. He was 64 years old.

He was born February 17, 1853, in Bramscha, kingdom of Hanover, Germany and with his family immigrated to America I the fall of 1853, settling at Muscatine. He was chief engineer at Hershey upper mills for many years but retired from active business duties about twenty years ago. He married Miss Emma Regina Liebbe May 1, 1883, who preceded him in death June 21, 1910.

To survive he leaves two brothers, Henry and Herman Bierman, both of Muscatine. Though definite funeral plans have not been, the body has been removed to the C. H. Liebbe home, 919 West Third street, from where services will be held, the time to be announced later.
