WEST LIBERTY, IOWA - Louise Cecelia Kaalberg, 79, of Nichols, died Monday evening, December 3, 1979 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, following an extended illness.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 6 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nichols. Rev. Walter Helms will officiate. Visitation is Wednesday afternoon and evening at Snider Funeral Home in West Liberty where a rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nichols.

Louise Kaalberg was born July 16, 1900 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew Thomas and Mary Anna (Peters) Healy. A life resident of Nichols, she had been residing at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty for the last few years.

Her marriage to John William Kaalberg took place on January 28, 1925 at St. Mary’s Church in Muscatine, IA. He died December 19, 1960.

Survivors include one son, Robert (Gerrie) Kaalberg of Nichols; two daughters, Mary (Wes) Steinocher of Nichols, and Patricia (Ron) Matthews of West Liberty, 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. One sister, Madeline Rohlff, also survives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a granddaughter, Debbie Matthews, and several brothers and sisters.
