DAVENPORT — Edwin W. Marolf, age 77, of Davenport, died on Saturday, January 1, 2011, at Manor Care Health Services in Davenport.
Edwin W. Marolf was born November 17, 1933, to John and Lena (Weiss) Marolf in Cedar County, Iowa. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He later served four years in the United States Air Force.
Edwin retired from the Rock Island Arsenal, where he had worked for 22 years.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Interment will take place at the Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton, Iowa.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his sisters, Margaret Marolf of Muscatine, Iowa, and June Welton of Huntington Beach, Calif.; three nephews, Jeff and his wife, Debra Welton, John and his wife, Kerry Welton; and their sons, Nathan and Carter and James Welton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ernest Marolf, and his brother-in-law, Paul Welton.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society in his memory.
