Death Occurs at 10 o'clock Yesterday Morning Following Illness of Ten Days

Helen, the 16-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Skeels succumbed to pleural pneumonia shortly after 10 o'clock yesterday morning, at the home of her parents, 605 East Third street. She had been ill for the past ten days, but it was only early yesterday morning that hopes for her recovery were given up.
The death of one who was just budding into young womenhood is mourned by a host of friends in this city. She had resided in Muscatine for the past fourteen years, coming here with her parents from Montezuma, when she was two years old. She resided here ever since and attended the Jefferson school until a short time ago.
The bereaved parents, one brother, Wesley, age 7; four sisters, Hazel and Ruth at home; Mrs. Walter McCormick of this city and Mrs. Albert Smith of Des Moines are left to mourn the deceased.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
