TIPTON - Robert C. Mineck, 83, of Tipton, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, in Quitman, Miss., of injuries sustained in a pedestrian automobile accident.

Services will be at the United Methodist Church in Tipton. The Rev. DeLane Wright will officiate. Pallbearers will be Catherine Toerber, Annie Polasik, Will Mineck, Tim Toerber, John Polasik, Whitney Mineck, Joey Polasik, Megan Mineck. Organist will be Sylvia Gould and vocalist will be Berrie Glick. Burial will be at a later date at the Cedar Memorial Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Visitation will be at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton.

He was born Oct. 28, 1916, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Gustave W. and Anna M. Listebarger Mineck. He married Phyliss Schluntz April 5, 1942, in Los Angeles. He was an Iowa conservation officer for 20 years. He was a World War II veteran. He was in the U.S. Army Reserves for 30 years and a civilian employee of the Army Reserves. He graduated from Grant High School in Cedar Rapids and the Iowa State Teachers College. He was a member of the Tipton American Legion and the Crescent Lodge in Cedar Rapids. Survivors include his wife, Phyliss Mineck of Tipton; two daughters, Sandra Toerber and her husband, Erwin, of Freeport, Ill. and Dianne Polasik of Stillwater, Minn.; a son, Richard Mineck and his wife, Peg of Grand Mound; a sister, Margaret Hiler of Somers; a brother, Fred Mineck of Cedar Rapids; a sister-in-law, Arlene Mineck of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren, Catherine and Tim Toerber, Joey, Annie and John Polasik, Megan, Will and Whitney Mineck. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Mineck; and a son, Robin Mineck.
