PHOENIX - Toni Broderson Quandt, 55, formerly of Muscatine, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2008, in Phoenix after an extended illness.

Memorial Service will be at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 224 E Third St., Muscatine.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up for the Muscatine Humane Society.

Toni was born on January 10, 1953, in Muscatine, the second of six children to Darlene and Carl Broderson.

She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1971. After graduation, she was a lab tech at Grain Processing Corp. and later married Lloyd Shoppa and had three sons, Alex Shoppa, Beau Shoppa and Casey Shoppa.

After that marriage ended, she supported her family as a welder at International Harvester and Prime Mover in Muscatine. In 1985, she married David Quandt and had two sons, David Quandt and Eric Quandt. In 1994, she and her family moved to Phoenix where she and her husband accepted jobs with a computer-consulting firm.

Although she was not a member of a particular church, when visiting Muscatine, she loved to attend church services at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship. She was very spiritual and had a personal relationship with Jesus.

She was a very compassionate and generous person. She enjoyed helping others and was an avid animal lover. During her lifetime, she surrounded herself with pets and rescued many animals.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, David Quandt of Phoenix, Arizona; her sons, Alex Shoppa and wife, Rachel, of Muscatine, Beau Shoppa, Casey Shoppa, David Quandt and Eric Quandt of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren, Travis Benefiel, Kayla Benefiel and Melanie Shoppa of Muscatine and Malika Shoppa of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters, Judy Rivera and husband, Arnold, of Muscatine and Terry Gorsuch and husband, Tom, of Wilton; three brothers, Rodger Broderson and wife, Diana, of Muscatine, Gary Broderson and wife, Kathy, of Muscatine and Carl Broderson and wife, Regena, of Muscatine; and many nieces and nephews.
