FRANK BRAASCH
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Frank A. Braasch, 74, of Muscatine, died Monday, February 18, 2008, at Unity Hospital.

Private Funeral Service will be held at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser Street. Reverend Ed Meyer will officiate the service. Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Frank was born on October 31, 1933, in Altamont, Illinois, the son of Emily Julius and Louisa Amelie Klautsch Braasch. He married Beverly Chelf on February 6, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 1995.

He was a US Army veteran. He worked as a mechanic at HJ Heinz Company before retiring.

He was a NASCAR racing fan, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and his grandchildren. He was also a Hawkeye fan and belonged to the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include two sons, Rick Braasch of Davenport, and Steve Braasch and wife, Sandy, of Muscatine; one daughter, Julie Braasch of Muscatine; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elsie Hammer of Missouri, and Mildred McAvoy of Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Mike, five brothers and two sisters.
