DONALD CURTIS Sr.
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Donald W. Curtis Sr., 72, of 1118 Westwood Lane, died Friday, November 28, 2003, at Genesis Medical Center West Campus, Davenport.

Funeral Service will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Schoolcraft, of the Reynolds United Methodist Church, Reynolds, Illinois, will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kenny Miller, Jason Curtis, Donald Curtis Jr., Korey Miller, Floyd Newcomb and Mitch Miller. Burial will be at Drury-Reynolds Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.

He was born on January 20, 1931, in Muscatine, the son of Clifford and Letha Hintermeister Curtis. He married Barbara J. Wedekind on June 5, 1952, in Muscatine.

Mr. Curtis was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1952-1954. He was a member of the American Legion and UAW.

Donald enjoyed the simple things in life, like a good card game or a game of pool. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren.

He was a machinist at John Deere retiring 1989.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Curtis, of Muscatine; two sons, Donald Curtis Jr. and his wife Jade, of Panama City, Florida and Jason E. Curtis, of Muscatine; one daughter, Susan Miller and her husband, Mitch, of Taylor Ridge, Illinois; five grandchildren, Brandy Curtis, Korey Miller, Stacey Miller, Amanda Curtis and Jared Curtis; one great grandson; and one sister-in-law, Betty Kranz, of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
