EDWARD J. KELLY FUNERAL SERVICE SET FOR FRIDAY

Services will be held at 9 am Friday at St. Mathias church for Edward J. Kelly, 61, who died at 7:35 pm Tuesday at his home, 406 West Fifth Street, following a one year illness. The Rev. J.J. Welsh, pastor of the church, will be in charge.

Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, under the direction the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral home. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 o'clock Thursday evening.

Mr. Kelly was born Nov. 1, 1891, at Sioux City, Ia., the son of Edward M. and Mary Conway Kelly. He had been resident here for the past 50 years.

His marriage to Freda H. Schrempf took place Sept, 2, 1918, at St. Mary's church. He was a member of St. Mathias church. For the past 10 years he was employed as receiving clerk at Montgomery Ward and Co., and prior to that time was engaged as a barber.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Thomas E. and John F. of Muscatine, Paul J. and Charles P., at home, and Warrant Officer James A. Kelly of Rolla, Mo.; four daughters, Dorothy C. Kelly of Davenport, Mrs. Lloyd Grupe of Pleasant Valley, Ia., Margaret A. Kelly of Waterloo and Mary G. Kelly, at home; two brothers, William F. of Des Moines and Harry J. of Muscatine; and 12 grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother in infancy.
