FRED W. HERMANN

Fred W. Hermann, 82, 709 Leroy Street, secretary-treasurer of the Hawkeye Button Company, died at 1:45 pm Tuesday at Muscatine General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 am in the Ralph J. Wittich funeral home, where friends may call after 7 tonight. The Rev. Leo E. Jeambey will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Hermann had been associated with the Hawkeye Button Co. for 51 years. He was president of the Hermann Lumber Co. of Pleasant Prairie. His death, from a cardiac condition, came after an extended illness.

His wife, the former Helen Springborn, whom he married May 16, 1916, in Muscatine, preceded him in death.

Mr. Hermann was born in Muscatine May 19, 1883. He was the son of George amd Marie Weber Hermann.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Burns, Muscatine; four brothers, Charles F. and George H. of Muscatine, and Dr. Alford H. and Dr. Weber C. Hermann, Milwaukee, Wis; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Klaffenbach and Miss Edna Hermann, Milwaukee, and one grandchild.

A brother, William, is dead.

Mr. Hermann was a member of United Presbyterian church. He also was a 50-year member of eight Masonic organizations. They are Iowa Lodge No. 2, Washington chapter, Demolay commandery, Zarapath consistory, Kaaba Temple shrine, Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem and Webb council.
