Funeral services will be held at 10 am Sat at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home for Mrs. Prudence Bowen, 96, Toledo, IA. Mrs. Bowen died Wed at Sunnyfield Care Center in Tama, following an extended illness.
Visitation will be after 3 pm Fri. Officiating will be Father George Six and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Prudence Goody was born Mar 28, 1880, in Iowa City, the daughter of Robert and Isabell Goody. Her marriage to Leonard Bowen took place Oct 14,1898, in Iowa City. She was a resident of Muscatine for many years and belonged to the Trinity Episcopal Church.
Survivors include 3 sons, Harold of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Robert, Moline, IL; Sidney, Menlo Park, CA. 1 daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Maplethorp of Toledo, IA. 1 brother, Glenn of Iowa City. 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. Her husband and one son died earlier.
