Mrs. Alexander Bird, a resident of Muscatine for the last two and a half years years died following an extended attack of cancer at her home, 1005 Nebraska street at 7:30 this morning. She was 51 years old.

Mrs. Bird, who formerly was Miss Mattie Stickrod, was born in Rock Island County, Illinois, on March 13, 1869. In July of 1893, she married Alexander Bird, to which union two childred were born. The family lived at Andalusia, Ill., for about twenty years and then moved to Muscatine about two years and half ago.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Pansy Hahn and Miss Goldie Bird at home; two brothers, Henry Stickrod of Rock Island County and John J. Stickrod of Muscatine; and one sister, Mrs. Rose Howard of Rock Island County.

Funeral plans will be announced later.
