Lucile M. Gorsuch
MESA, Ariz. -- Lucile M. Gorsuch, 85, Muscatine, died Saturday, May 1, 2004, in Mesa.

Memorial services are at Wesley United Methodist Church. The Rev. Hal Green will officiate. Private inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or the Desert Chapel Methodist Church in Apache Junction, Ariz.

Mrs. Gorsuch was born Oct. 8, 1918, in Muscatine, the daughter of Raymond and Tena Sweitzer Miller. Her first marriage was to David J. Sywassink May 11, 1938, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death. She then married Ivan Gorsuch July 3, 1965, in Muscatine.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Ladies of the Moose, Beta Sigma Phi and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, David M. Sywassink and wife, Mary, of Muscatine; two stepsons, Perry Gorsuch and wife, Deborah, of Crawfordsville, Ga., and Tom Gorsuch and wife, Terri, of Wilton; two daughters, Jackie Johnson of Muscatine and Donna Trambley and husband, Brian, of Albuquerque, N.M.; four stepdaughters, Wendy Black and husband, Randall, of Cedar Rapids, Jenny Berryhill and husband, Ken, of Milford, Mass., Abby McCannon and husband, Tom, of Carson City, Nev., and Lindy Strause of Muscatine; six grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, Darrel Miller of Letts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and two grandchildren.
No relation we were camping friends
