Cawiezell to celebrate 80thDonald H. Cawiezell of 3523 150th St., Muscatine, will celebrate his 80th birthday with an open house from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at the Blue Grass American Legion.
He was born July 16, 1923, in Pleasant Prairie, the son of Arthur H. and Ora Welsch Cawiezell. He married Eunice Cawiezell Nov. 27, 1955, in Pleasant Prairie.
His children are Bill and John, both of Muscatine, and Robert of Durant. He has nine grandchildren.
He was employed by the Rock Island Arsenal for 38 years and he and his wife farmed for 25 years.
He is a lifetime member of the Blue Grass American Legion; member of Durant Senior Citizens, Walcott Community Club, Quad-City Plus 60 Club and 500 and Pitch in Durant.
