Location of farm near Red Oak, circa 1870-1890

I will visit the Red Oak area in late September 2018 and would like to visit property owned by the McKeeman family between about 1870 to 1890, my direct ancestor being James Alexander McKeeman, who married Rose DeVoss. Such land would probably be farmland in Elliott or Frankfort Townships. Where would I find the land records, and is there anyone in the area who could help me if I cannot be available during courthouse hours?
