"Died While on a Visit
"Mrs. Susan Fitzgerald Kerrihard, mother of Henry Kerrihard and Mrs. R. Watkins, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Stratton, at Plattsmouth, Neb., on Nov. 30, from heart disease. Mrs. Kerrihard was in her 76th year, and had been a highly esteemed resident of Red Oak for nearly 35 years. She was born in Union county, Pa., Feb. 23, 1818, was married to Wm. H. Kerrihard in 1842, moved to Davenport, this state, in 1854, and came to Red Oak in 1860. Her husband died Jan. 7, 1880. She was one of the first members of the Red Oak M. E. church. Mrs. Kerrihard was the mother of eight children, six of whom are living, three sons and three daughters, three in Iowa and three in Nebraska. The funeral services were held at her home in Red Oak on Sunday afternoon, and were conducted by Rev. A.B. Buckner. The attendance of friends was large. There were present at the funeral Mr. And Mrs. John Stratton from Plattsmouth, Neb., Mr. And Mrs. W. H. Kerrihard from Ashland, Neb., and Mr. And Mrs. Thos. Kerrihard from Greenwood, Neb."
