"MRS. ERIAL STEVENS

"Mrs. Erial Stevens, a resident of Red Oak for more than fifty years, died Wednesday morning at 7:30 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Koons, in Clarinda, where she and Mr. Stevens have been spending the summer. She has been in failing health for several months.
Rose L. Hawkins was born in Ohio May 2, 1845, and was married Sept. 9, 1866 to Erial Stevens. To this union six children were born. Those living are W.D. Stevens, Amboy, Minn.; Inda Stevens of Ogilvie, Minn. Mrs. Chas. Koons of Clarinda and Harry Stevens of Red Oak.
The remains were brought to Red Oak today and taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stevens, 105 Corning street, where the funeral services will be held. The date and hour of the services have not been decided, but they will probably be held Friday afternoon. Rev. Clark Comstock of the Christian church will have charge of the services. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery."

"Mrs. E. Stevens Dead

"Mrs. Rose L. Stevens, wife of Erial Stevens, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Koons, in Clarinda, at 7:30 o’clock Wednesday morning, Sept. 8, after illness of about three months. The remains will be brought here for burial in Red Oak cemetery, Clark Comstock preaching the funeral and the following nephews acting as pallbearers, O.E., Walter, George and Chas. Jackson, A.M. and Owen C. Hawkins. The time and place for the funeral had not been fixed when the Sun went to press. Rose L. Hawkins was born in Knox county, Ohio, May 2, 1845, and was married there Sept. 8, 1866, to Erial Stevens, who survices(sic) her. They came to Red Oak just after their marriage and have lived here ever since. Mrs. Stevens is survived by three sons and one daughter, as follows” W.D. Stevens, Amboy, Minn.; Inda Stevens, Oglevie, Minn.; Harry E. Stevens, Red Oak; Mrs. Della Koons, Clarinda. Deceased was a faithful member of the Christian church and a good woman whose many friends extend sympathy to the sorrowing family."
