"Mrs. P.L. Hayzlett's Funeral Held Monday--Wife of Red Oak Attorney, and Justice of the Peace Died at Home Saturday Night -- WAS 73 YEARS OF AGE
Mrs. Mary B. Hayzlett, 73, wife of P.L. Hayzlett, Red Oak attorney and long time justice of the peace, died at her home 1209 Croning-st., Saturday evening at 6:45 o'clock from complicaions and advanced age.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 from Boileau & Thomas Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lucius L. smith, M.E. Circuit minister in charge. Pallbearers were John Conkel, Lester L. Orsborn, A.B. Hayes, Joe Clark, f. B. McClure, H.S. Petty and Hrold Gochenour. Interment was in the Red Oak cemetery.
Mary Boynton was born at Brooklyn, Ia., March 19, 1963, the daughter of Samuel and Mary Ann Boynton. At LaPorte City, Ia., she was married to P.L. Hayzlett on Sept. 23, 1886. They resided at LaPorte City for 18 years after which they moved to Marshalltown for six years. In 1915 they came here where Mr. Hayzlett began to practice law. Since that time they had lived here.
Surviving Mrs. Hayzlett are her husband, daughter, Mrs. C.M. Unger, of Red Oak, and a son, Paul B. Jr., St. Louis, Mo., as well as four grandchildren, Mrs. Mary Stevens, Barbara and Richard Unger and Charlotte Hayzlett, of St. Louis. Mrs. Hayzlett was a member of the Congregational church, the Order of Eastern Star, the Garden Department of the Monday club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was the last of her immediate family."

SERVICES WERE TODAY FOR MRS. P.L. HAYZLETT--Wife of Red Oak Justice of Peace Died Saturday Evening.
Mrs. Mary Boynton Hayzlett, 73, wife of P.L. Hayzlett, attorney and justice of the peace in Red Oak for 21 years, died at her home, 1209 Corning street, Red Oak, Saturday evening, July 18, at 6:45 o'clock, following a year's illness from complications due to her advanced years. She was a member of the Congregational church, the Garden Department of the Monday club, Eastern Star and DAR lodges.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Boileau & Thomas garden chapel conducted by Rev. Lucius L. Smith, circuit Methodist minister. Music was furnished by Mrs. Loie Woodburn of Hampton, Mrs. Carl Newquist, Mrs. Harold Gochenour, Mrs. A. B. Hayes and Mrs Harry Stevens were in charge of the floral offering and automobiles were furnished by Harold Gochenour, John Conkel, Lester L. Orsborn, Chars. J. Luppold, Harry S. Pety and Joe Clark. Serving as pall bearers were John Conkel, Lester L. Orsborn, W. H. Landt, Joe Clark, F. B. McClure, Harry S. Petty and Harold Gochenour. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.
Mary Boynton was born at Brooklyn, Iowa, March 19, 1863. She was married September 23, 1886 at LaPorte City, Iowa, to Perry L. Hayzlett. They lived at LaPorte City for about 18 years after which they moved to Marshalltown where they lived for six years. In 1915 they came to Red Oak, where Mr. Hayzlett entered the practice of law and they have made this their home for the past 21 years.
Mrs. Hayzlett is survived by her husband, a daughter and a son, Mrs. C.M. Unger of Red Oak, and Paul B. Hayzlett of St. Louis, Mo. Four grandchildren also survive, Mrs. Mary Unger-Stevens, Barbara Unger, Richard Unger of Red Oak, and Charlotte Hayzlett of St. Louis. Mrs. Hayzlett was the last of her immediate family."
