Carl Lindquist Dies
Stanton, Aug 9 – Carl E. Lindquist, 79, a resident of Cass and Montgomery counties for over 30 years, died Friday at Murphy Memorial hospital of carcinoma. He had been ill about three weeks. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday from Mamrelund Lutheran church in Stanton, of which he was a member, with Rev. A. Leonard Somith, the pastor, in charge. Pallbearers were Fred Peterson, Frank Nelson, Walter Ahlquist, C. A. Wickstorm, Ross Rees and Freden Roll. Vocal music was by Miss Phyllis Wram and Miss Marvalene Anderson, Leland Lindberg was the organist. The floral committee included Mrs. Freden Rol and Mrs. Myrtle Anderson. Burial was in the Mamre cemetery, with the Sellergren service.
Carl E. Lindquist, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lindquist, was born in Monmouth, Ill., Feb 3, 1869. He came to this vicinity as a young man and lived in the Griswold locality over 40 years before moving to Stanton in 1938. He was married at Red Oak in 1908 to Sigrid Akeson, who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Esther Lindquist, of Stanton, and two brothers living in California.
