RED OAK- Funeral services will held Sunday at the Sellergren Funeral here for John Hogstrom, 81, blacksmith in the Wallin community for 45 years, who died July 7 at the Odd Fellows home in Mason City after an illness of several years. The Rev. P. N. Sjorgen conducted rites, with the burial in the Salem Cemetery.

The son of John Alfred and Wendal Hogstrom who was born Dec. 15, 1863 in Kalmar Lan, Sweden. He lived in Sweden till 1887. From 1890 to 1893 he lived in Denmark and came to St. Joseph, Mo., from Germany in 1896. He moved to the Wallin Community in 1904.

A member of the Lutheran church and IOOF in Red Oak, he married Bessie Hanson here Dec. 10, 1912. She died in 1939.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Nathan Waldron of Shenandoah.
