RED OAK-Services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Sellergren Funeral Home for James Cecil McFarland, 40, who died Saturday in Clarinda. Death was caused by tuberculosis. He had been in ill health for twenty years. The Rev. Phillip Van Luven will officiate. Burial will be in the Frankfort Cemetery.

Born December 2, 1909, in Golden Eagle, Ill., he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John McFarland.

A farmer during his lifetime, he is survived by mother in Red Oak; three brothers, Claude of Villisca; Paul of Stanton; and Floyd of Red Oak; five sisters, Mrs. Clitus Clark, Mrs. Bessie McGimsey, Mrs. A. L. Larkin, Mrs. Ivan Smith, and Mrs. Virginia Goldsmith, all of Red Oak.
