Mrs. Elmer E. Carlson Buried Here Thursday

Mrs. Elmer E. Carlson, 65, a resident of Red Oak and vicinity for a half century, died Friday evening at the Sell Nursing Home of complications following paralysis. She had been ill since 1942, and became seriously ill on Monday preceding her death.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday from the Methodist church, of which deceased was a member, with Dr. Guy Fansher the pastor, in charge. Pallbearers were Glen Bower, Ivan Benskin, Henry Johnson, Reuben Anderson, Arvid Almquist and Homer McBride. Music was by Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Fifield, vocalists and Mrs. Ray Cozad, organist. Members of the floral committee were Mrs. Homer McBride, Mrs. Ivan Benskin, mrs. henry Johnson and Mrs. Carl A. Parsons. Ushers were E. C. Knight and Zeph Morgan. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery, with the Perryman service.

Deborah Fern Anderson, daughter of W. C. and Harriett E. Anderson, was born at Blanchard Nov. 30, 1885. She lived at Blanchard and Westbro before coming to Red Oak in 1900, after which she had lived in or near this city. She was married at Red Oak April 8, 1914, to Elmer E. Carlson. She was a graduate of the Red Oak High School.
Surviving are the husband, a daughter, Mrs. Willard Skallberg of Clarinda, a son, Earl Carlson, of Humboldt, a brother Richard Anderson of Council Bluffs, and a sister, Mrs. Carl Ward, of Houston, Tex. There are nine grandchildren.
